David is an independent jewellery valuer with over twenty years experience in fine jewellery and watches. He has worked for Weir and sons in Dublin, and for both Mappin and Webb and Cartier Ltd in London. He was worked alongside some of the finest valuers and experts in their field. He holds the Professional Jewellers Diploma with distinction as well as the Professional Jewellers Valuation Diploma, Fellowship of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain and Fellowship of the National Association of Goldsmiths. He is a Member of both the Institute of Registered Valuers and the Association of Independent Jewellery Valuers.

Our office is based on Lower Baggot Street (opposite the Bank of Ireland headquarters), from where you can make an appointment seven days a week. If you need an evening appointment we can accomadate that at no extra charge. CLICK HERE
However if it is not convenient to travel to us (you may have a large amount of jewellery that would be inconvenient to transport), we can organise to visit you at your home. In short we work around your schedule.
Irish Jewellery Valuation Services was set up in 2008 in order to provide Dubliners with a convenient and professional jewellery valuation service similar to that which has been available elsewhere in Europe for many years. After much research as to what was available here we discovered that you could have a proper valuation done but this would involve a delay of around three weeks or involve the jewellery being sent away (often to the UK). The other alternative would be something done quickly by a retailer resulting in an inadequate document (often hand written) where no tests have been carried out (due to lack of proper testing equipment) with a value calculated simply by comparing the item to others in stock.
Taking into account what was available we decided that Dubliners deserved a better level of service. Our mission is to provide professional valuations as follows…

the- spot. - No items are ever taken out of your sight.
- All valuation reports are typed, include full detailed descriptions including all weights, measurements and assessments of gemstones and precious metals.
- An assessment is made of the condition of second hand, antique and period jewellery.
- All reports include photographs.
- All reports are presented in a document folder and include a second copy to provide to your insurer.
- Impartial advice is given on any repairs or treatments your jewellery or watch may require.
- All fees are calculated on a basis of the number of items being valued and not on a percentage of the final value.
